Social Center DEVELOPMENT

The Center was established in 1993. Originally its work was focused on the developmental groups for children between 2-5. In 1995 another division of the Center – Youth Club was organized. Our Center was getting bigger. And now it grew into a marvelous place for those who are older than 1,5 and younger than 18 with art, origami studios, tourist group, computer class, social-psychological trainings for teens, interesting meetings, excursions, exhibitions … just hard to enumerate everything, for it is important for a child to have a Place, where it can find an interesting occupation, a faithful friend, courage and kindness in its own heart.

      Our goals are: development of cognitive, emotional, personality spheres, providing conditions for mastering of social skills, skills of working in a team, forming an un-indifferent position (attention to other people, their joy, sorrows, needs; readiness to help), developing the sense of competence, understanding of necessity of their own activity.

• seminars for parents: meetings with psychologists;
• cinema-club, where a teenager can come, watch a film, discuss it with other teenagers, students, adults;
• charity actions and performances in the hospitals;
• and just celebrating holidays together, building a fortress for the Pan-cake Week, going to Seliger-lake for summer holidays to rest and to work (for several years we’ve taken part in the reconstruction of Nilova Pustyn’ Monastery).

      We are writing 'Club' from the capital letter, for it is really such in our lives and, we suppose, in the lives of children who come to us. It is the place, where we learn many things both to do and to feel, and, what is more, we help each other to learn the Art of Being.
